Position: Supervisor – Steam
Location: Kapuskasing, ON – Papermill
Salary Range: $100,000.00 – $115,000.00 annually
Requirements:
Language: English (spoken and written) and French is an asset.
Education: 2nd Class Power Engineering TSSA Ticket
Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience preferred
Minimum 5 years in steam operations and boiler systems
Excellent communication skills
Responsibilities:
Using an entrepreneurial approach, provide planning and direction to the Steam Plant area to optimize the Steam Plant processes in the most cost-effective manner to support the manufacture of pulp and newsprint, ensuring that these processes adhere to regulations and environmental guidelines, while maintaining alignment of the Steam Plant Group with the principles and objectives defined in the Results Management Framework.
Manage and lead the Steam Plant areas to ensure that systems and processes are in place to provide continuous steam and air safely and efficiently at minimum cost, within environmental guidelines and regulations.
Ensure Steam Plant areas are manned with a capable workforce by applying effective coaching processes, accountable leadership practices and effective training.
Implement CAPEX, preventive maintenance, and production support systems to ensure reliable operation and longevity of steam plant assets.
Provide input on the selection of new capital equipment to be installed in the Steam Plant.
Support the development of the Steam Plant Budget and control costs.
Advise and/or recommend changes or opportunities, outside of direct area of accountability that will contribute to optimizing the short and long-term site objectives to colleagues.
Identify opportunities or risks related to manufacturing costs or processes and work effectively with colleagues to take appropriate action.
Report to Superintendent – Utilities.
