Superintendent – Human Resources
Position: Superintendent – Human Resources

Responsibilities
Report to the Mill Manager.
Supervise and guide two direct reports.
Oversee administration of employee pension and benefit programs, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
Manage relationships with third-party providers (e.g., insurance companies, pension distributors) to ensure efficient service delivery.
Participate in the review and enhancement of benefit plans to align with organizational goals and employee needs.
Provide an effective Human Resource service and support to Kapuskasing (Newsmill) in the following areas: Personnel, and Site Protection, Training, Labour / Employee Relations, Salary / Benefits Administration, and Public Relations, while ensuring compliance with Kap Paper Inc. principles and guidelines, the Collective Agreement and all applicable legislation.

Ensure compliance (monitoring, testing, establishing QA/QC procedures, and/or reporting) required by Federal/Provincial environmental legislation, Certificates-of-Approval and regulations with respect to effluent, storm water and steam production.
Provide technical support and direction to other departments about the best environmental practices.
Provide training to effluent Operations on testing procedures and operation of laboratory equipment.
Ensure required environmental laboratory safety procedures are followed.
Provide technical support towards maintaining newsprint key quality parameters.
Look after Yard operations, road management, including snow/sand removal, landfill waste disposal, metal disposal, lawn care and road maintenance equipment.
Set up relief for planned absences.
Coordinate and perform regulatory sampling and shipments to eternal labs.
Input and submit monthly, quarterly, annual regulatory reports.
