Mechanical Engineer / Technician
Position: Mechanical Engineering / Technician

Salary: $70,000.00 – $105,000.00 annually
Requirements:
Education: University degree in Mechanical Engineering or College Equivalent.
3-5 years experience in the field or related field.
Member of a Canadian Professional Engineers Association is an asset.
Excellent communication skills.
Language: English (spoken and written) and French is an asset.
Responsibilities:
Report to the Manufacturing Services Manager.
Lead root cause analysis and find solutions.
Perform weekend duty when required.
Support compliance with collective agreement and sound union / management/ employee relations.
Promote and provide a safe workplace, seek improvements, support Health & Safety Program.
Manage and lead projects, project assistance and studies assigned while abiding to environmental guidelines and regulations.
Abide by internal procedures and controls for engineering and construction activities that conform to sound financial maintenance and operating plans.
Ensure capital projects are prepared and completed in conformance with CPA guidelines and controls.
Advise and recommend changes or opportunities to the Papermill to reduce operating costs.
Identify capital projects providing opportunities to maximize profitability to the Papermill operations.
Recommending of spare parts and purchasing of standard equipment.

Maintenance Planner
Position: Maintenance Planner
Location: Maintenance Department - Newsmill
Requirements:
Mechanical Technician 5 years experience as a tradesman in the mechanical trade is an asset.
Proficient with computer software.
Strong written and oral skills.
Results oriented and can research independently to add value to any job via critical information.
Prioritizes and effectively deals with multiple tasks at once.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for planning, coordinating, and scheduling maintenance work (including preventative maintenance).
Schedules manpower for major repairs, overhauls and maintains a backlog of work for the area maintenance crew.
Maintains accurate reports.
Schedules, organizes and conducts weekly meetings.
Secures contractors as required for equipment maintenance.
Participates in solving safety and environmental issues, as required.
Utilizes trade or technical knowledge and field experience to develop job plan.
Carries out coordination needed to complete these plans and achieve the most efficient use of resources with minimum equipment downtime.
